One baseball tradition I loved, as a little kid playing Little League Baseball, is shaking (or slapping as hard as you could) hands with the other team at the end of the game.
The lesson taught was a good one. Whether you win or lose be nice to each other and commend everyone's efforts. Be a good sport.
Professional baseball continues this tradition but with players shaking their own team mates hands not the other team. What the hell is that about? Strange.
You know what else is strange? Professional Baseball is the only sport where the Managers/coaches wear the same uniform as the players. What the hell is THAT about?
