Last night was a great MUSE concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Tonight it's Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Two entirely different crowds, entirely different genre', entirely different feel-good experience.
MUSE is like wearing a cool, sleek, pair of of high heels with the girls, drinking red bull and vodka. Where Seger is wearing a flannel shirt on a cozy, lazy night, drinking Pinot Noir with a good read.
Listening to Bob Seger is a throw back in time. It's a very emotional experience. They came to MSG a couple of years ago. It was one of the best shows. Not because of the venue or special effects (btw, there weren't any) or a surprise guest appearance by Bruce Springsteen (belting out Old Time Rock and Roll). It was purely ethereal.
Their peak of success was during 1976-1987. Those were formidable years for music in my life. Any number of their songs brings me back to a very significant time in my life, a happy place, if you will.
Tonight, I'm puttin' on the flannel and gettin' in the Delorean and going back in time!
