The idea that characters from a book come alive after the store closes fascinates me. One of the beautiful things about reading a really great story is character development. The moment when you're getting to know this stranger and feelings develop; love, hate, disgust, likeability and so on. When the story ends it feels like saying goodby to a friend.
After I finish the last chapter, sometimes I'll Google the author in hopes of finding out just a little bit more of what the writer was thinking when they created such good characters. Often I have writers envy.
This video,To Die By Your Side directed by Spike Jonze, which is a little R-rated, is an animated love story about two characters from a book, brought to life.
